Dorian de Haan

Dorian de Haan studied General Linguistics and earned her PhD in 1994 with the dissertation Deep Dutch: Towards an Operationalization of School Language Skills. After teaching Dutch at the State Teacher Training College for Kindergarten Teachers (KLOS), she worked until her retirement in 2014 at the Department of Developmental Psychology at Utrecht University and served as Professor of Developmental Education at Inholland University of Applied Sciences.

Her research focuses on language development in early childhood education and primary schools in relation to children's social and cognitive development. Her areas of expertise include language development, development from an intercultural perspective, and the socio-historical theories of human development.
